We are WL Groundworks, a groundworking company based in the Staffordshire market town of Uttoxeter and offering a wide range of services – including installing tarmac driveways, patios and specialist porcelain – for domestic and commercial clients across Staffordshire and Derbyshire.
We undertake business-to-business (B2B) assignments as well as carry out work on private property. Since 2020, we have been trading as WL Groundworks – but we have more than 15 years of experience in completing the services that remain within our remit to this day.
We have completed subcontracted work in the past and continue to offer products and services on a subcontracted basis. However, any of our services listed below can also be utilised as one-off work.
Each project we complete for a client is guaranteed for 10 years – and we keep our business insurance fully updated to further put our clients at ease.
Any outdoor installation cannot last without appropriate preparation and excavation beforehand. If you are looking to revitalise your landscape and begin anew, we conduct safe and informed excavation and demolition.
Once excavation concludes, this is when we initiate the necessary groundworks: drainage, sewer connections, footings and more. With these steps, your landscape is guaranteed to withstand the harshest weather, and the usual wear and tear of time.
At WL Groundworks, we are experts in block paving. As such, we have a brilliant selection of paving blocks in various colours, finishes, sizes and designs for potential clients to choose from.
Block paving can complement both a traditional or contemporary home, and is remarkably easy to maintain and repair if necessary. By lifting and replacing existing block paving bricks when needed, previous damage becomes unnoticeable, and the lifespan of your driveway is greatly extended.

Tarmac is quicker to lay than other driveway options such as resin, available at an accessible cost and can be used almost immediately after installation. In combination with decorative block paving, tarmac makes for an attractive installation to any property.
For our clients with a green thumb, and those conscious about the environment, natural turf can be a viable solution for a lush, green lawn. Natural turf is cool in the summer heat, safe for play, releases oxygen into the atmosphere and provides an efficient runoff filter for rain.
